Board Member
René, native to the island of Puerto Rico, studied natural sciences and minored in human studies at the University of Puerto Rico, Rio Piedras Campus. Known for his professional prowess, having worked and studied in different fields of science, computer engineering, project management and business and non-profit development, René brings to the table what few others can: versatility, adaptability and out-of-the-box thinking. He has managed numerous projects working with non-profit organizations focused on supporting economic development and cultural organizations impacting more than six hundred entities on the island. Currently works as a Business Development Officer with the Center for Creative Economy and as Executive Director in the Caribbean Fishing Academy. In his free time, he enjoys being an active member of his community, learning about history, and traveling to learn about other cultures and ways of life.
