Offering Florida Field Trips That Come to You

Elements of each FFA program can be offered as field trips that come to your school.

From our Mobile Marine Lab or Mini Lab to snorkeling and boat excursions, the marine world is available for local kids to explore. While we primarily offer Palm Beach County field trips, we are open to speaking with schools and groups throughout South Florida.

Audience

For children of ages 5 to 21 at local schools or through private groups.

Programs

Mobile Marine Lab at Your School

We’ll bring the beach to your doorstep with our Mobile Marine Lab. Your students or guests will get an up-close look at environmental and marine features such as Florida’s watershed display, a touch tank with a marine animal, and an augmented reality topography sandbox. Each display teaches valuable lessons about Florida’s ecosystems. Please contact us for state standards information.

  • Schools: $950 for a 5-hour experience
  • Private groups: $1050 for a 5-hour experience

Mini Marine Lab at Your Site

This program is specifically designed for our smallest marine scientists, kids aged 5 to 7. Students in this program will enjoy five sessions of science discovery activities paired with a picture book. We will bring a marine animal as a visitor from our touch tank for each session.

Session Themes Include:

  1. Ocean Commotion: Introduction to World Oceans
  2. What’s Afloat in the Ocean? Introduction to Buoyancy
  3. Animal Adaptations: Shark Science and Fun with Fishing
  • Schools or Private groups: $500 for five sessions; $150 for one session
Students touch a hermit crab and discuss sea life at Marine Lab.

Marine Lab Excursions by Boat

Come aboard the Thea Marie, our 49-passenger catamaran to explore local marine ecosystems. Kids will use the five senses to observe and investigate living things and the environment. Programs are age-appropriate and follow current state standards for each grade level. Grades 2 and higher, for example, will cruise aboard the Thea Marie to explore different habitats in Lake Worth Lagoon and learn to fish on Munyon Island. A list of Sunshine state standards are available on request.

  • Schools: $2,600 for a 4-hour experience
  • Private groups: $3,600 for a 4-hour experience
